Considered and compassionate advice
The law relating to the administration of deceased estates is notoriously and increasingly complex. But that is nothing when compared to the emotional turmoil of families torn apart after the death of a relative. Our decades of experience navigating these disputes has proven – time and again – that things are only made worse without the genuine understanding and expertise from a team of trusted advisers, guiding the process from the beginning.
Claims against Estates
If you have not been provided for in the will of a relative, or there is no will and there is argument within the family over how the estate should be dealt with, you need real expertise to advise you on your options, the costs of making a claim against the estate, and how to efficiently manage a claim to resolution. You need to be able to decide whether it is even worth bringing a claim, and then at each decision point in the process, to clearly understand your position. We have run some of Australia’s most significant estate litigation, and have settled dozens of claims for claimants in Western Australia and across jurisdictions.
The role of Executor is an enormously difficult, and under-appreciated, position of responsibility. Our estates dispute resolution and litigation team is lead by lawyers who have been executors of dozens of deceased estates, and know these issues from the core. They are backed by one of Western Australia’s largest specialist deceased estates and estates administration teams, with decades of experience dealing with all facets of estate administration.
From farming dynasties to leading corporate estates, or family homes both large and small, we have developed sound and tested strategies for managing the administration and distribution process of estate disputes.
